Una specie di Alice / Kind of Alice is my first collaboration with my sister Simona, dancer and performer living in Siena. We started working on it in August 2016, looking for a way to create together, combining our skills and building up a shared artistic vision.

Slowly she slips down the rabbit hole, like Lewis Carrol’s Alice, and finds herself in a fragmented and discontinuous world, in which the law of metamorphosis transforms the coordinates of time, space and movement …
Inspired by Alice in Wonderland and Through the looking glass, we started a journey looking for “our” Alice. It is not about giving the right interpretation of Carroll’s work, or about telling exactly the adventures we find in the books. We are interested in using the rules of paradox and nonsense to build up our personal version of Wonderland.
Movement, space, gaze, objects and the connections among those elements are the focus of our research. Using objects from our everyday life, we explore how movement is affected by those objects, changing the physical relation, the subjective perception, the imaginative thought connected with them.
We invite the audience to follow us in a fantastic world, in between real life and the imaginary land created by the author. A place where everything is possible, where everyone can find again its own “wonderland”, reading with their imagination the images and situations we share with them.
